I am a “DJ of Thought,” using improvisational performance art techniques to remix ideas and expand the boundaries of knowledge.
At the moment, my performances takes two general forms:
- Improvised Performance Lectures that directly explore / explain some of my central concerns.
- Performances with WE ARE SCIENCE! a research improv collective.
Other performance and interactive experiences include:
- Art is ______, an interactive experience at the Phillips Collection, inviting participants to remix their own definitions of art using words of artists in the collection
- The Fire Works Magic, an interactive installation at Baltimore’s Transmodern Festival
- Score for Environmental Interactions, a participatory, improvised “tour” of the USPTO building in Alexandria, as part of the Yockadot! Poetics Theatre Festival
- I Know Where We Are: An Interface in Three Movements, a collaborative improvisational performance with cellist Kate Porter
- Heraclitus Poetic Necromancy, a participatory, ritual summoning of Heraclitus
